The Modern Media Studies (MMS) (ISSN 3078 3151) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by HIEP Publishing House, based in Hong Kong. The journal welcomes submissions in both Chinese and English. There are no Article Processing Charges (APC) for submissions, and all content is fully open access. Manuscripts can be submitted via email to:mms2025@126.com. To facilitate the review process, please label your submission with“Name + Title”.Please note: The journal does work with any third parties for manuscript solicitation. All publications are free of charge. The first issue of MMS is scheduled to publish in 2025, and the electronic version will be freely available for download on its website: www.mmsjournal.com (currently under construction).


Scope and Topics

MMS focuses on a wide range of topics related to Modern Media Studies, including:

  • Interpersonal communication;

  • Group communication, mass communication;

  • Organizational communication;

  • Control research, content analysis;

  • Economic communication, educational communication;

  • literature and cultural communication;

  • We-media research, network media, cross-cultural research;

  • Artificial intelligence and media research.


This journal encourages interdisciplinary research, particularly on emerging topics such as the integration of artificial intelligence in modern media and communication. In line with international standard, MMS does not have fixed  sections or columns, but accepts high-quality research within these areas of focus.
