Deep Ploughing and Innovation in the History of Shelley’s Reception in China: A Review of Zhang Jing’s Shelley in China (1905–1966)

Abstract: As one of the most important British Romantic poets of the nineteenth century, Shelley’s works and spirit exerted a profound influence on the development of modern Chinese literature. Shelley in China (1905–1966) by Zhang Jing (Peking University Press, 2022) adopts a chronological approach to systematically examine the transmission and reception of Shelley’s works in China between 1905 and 1966, as well as the construction and transformation of Shelley’s image within the Chinese context. This paper reviews the book from four perspectives: parallel studies, the author’s previous research, the main content of the book, and its academic value and methodological innovations, aiming to demonstrate its scholarly significance and provide references for related research.

摘要：作为19世纪最重要的英国浪漫主义诗人之一，雪莱的作品与精神对中国现代文学的发展进程产生了深刻的影响。张静《雪莱在中国（1905-1966）》（北京大学出版社，2022年，以下简称《雪莱在中国》）以时间为轴，历时性系统梳理了1905至1966年间雪莱作品在中国被传播与接受的过程，以及雪莱本人的形象在中国语境中的建构与嬗变。本文从同类研究、作者过往研究、本书的主要内容、本书的学术价值与方法论创新四个角度入手，对该书进行评析，以期展现其学术价值，并为相关研究提供参考。
